I had actually been to this establishment a few years ago and wasn't impressed. Being someone who believes things can change though, I decided to give it another shot; and am I ever glad I did.
I'm not sure if the first time was just a bad day, or if the owner or management have changed, but there was a night or day difference this time around. A few years ago the "mixed vegetables" were mostly cabbage, and the egg rolls etc were extremely greasy. This time around the egg roll was amazing, and the mixed vegetables were delicious (and a very good mix of some nice stuff).
Since trying the place again, I've now been back a couple of more times, and it'll now be my regular go to anytime I want Chinese food.
I've had their dinner combos a couple of times - both were great. They could use a few more options for these, but I guess since I found something really good both times, I can't complain.
I've also ordered a dinner for 4. They have a couple of specials that are on a whiteboard inside the restaurant, and they both are great deals, and have a good assortment of food.
The place may not look like much, and I'd definitely order take out instead of eating in. Sometimes though, these places that don't look like they're going to be that good can surprise you, and this is definitely what I'd consider a hidden gem. -

I've driven past this place often in a nondescript little mall and decided to drop by for takeout for my lunch. $9 taxes in for my meal with many choices to decide mostly canadian - chinese fare. Although I was not impressed with the place as a restaurant as it was dated and a bit grubby it appeared clean and the service was quick and pleasant.
The food I brought home was delicious and really plentiful. In the end it fed 2 people till we were full. I would definitely come back here again for another take out . -

I tried this for the first time and I quite enjoyed it. The portions are quite large and the prices are competitive with other restaurants.
They have lots of family combos to choose from, but what I liked the most is they offer CUSTOM family combos. I've never seen other Chinese food restaurants do that.
The staff were friendly and our order was done in 15 minutes, they even gave us some free egg rolls.
The orange chicken is awesome, the wings super crispy and my fave was the battered shrimp. Nothing was too greasy or salty.
Definitely one of the best places to get Chinese food in the area. -

I like coming here, super convenient and great for those nights when you don't want to cook and need a quick fix.
I usually always get combo C - sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, egg roll and three battered fried shrimp for less than 9 bucks. I always add an order of shrimp spring rolls, packed with real jump shrimps and always fresh and piping hot when I get home. Their food isn't as greasy as most chinese restaurants that I have been to. They put the shrimp spring rolls and the egg rolls in a small paper bag and you can't even see the grease stains!
My mom loves their food, she loves getting the fat rice noodles with beef in black bean sauce. So yummy.
My boyfriend and I, ordered a bunch of things on their menu when the place got bought under a new management and I am pretty content! Their chicken wings are yummy, but not a fan of the orange chicken.
Overall, I really like this place. 5 minutes from home and they don't take as long to make your food and everything is FRESH! -

Hong Kong Kitchen is on Bayview s of Mulock. It's classic Chinese food (what I ordered, anyway) and the prices are reasonable. I ordered my favourites: egg rolls, BBQ pork fried rice and chicken with vegetables and almonds (but there were no almonds in the dish). The vegetables were fresh and crisp. I like that they put green peas in the rice but they were scarce. They have a fairly extensive menu. I would like to try some of their curries the next time.
